What is Love? Baby Don't Hurt Me
Love can be hard to understand, easy to feel, and painful when it ends.
One of the greatest things about love is how diverse it can be. It comes in all shapes and sizes. For instance, I love warm blankets, good books, and great coffee. But I also love my friends, family, and dog. And even more I love God and God's love for me is unconditional. But while having some many different types of love is amazing, I think that is what makes it hard to understand.
It's hard to imagine that one word can mean so much for one thing and yet so minimal for something else. Who knows someday I may wake up and not like coffee anymore (I wouldn't count on it) and yet I can wake up every day knowing God's love for me will never fade or end.
The amazing thing about love is there are s many different types. We can experience romantic love, friendship love, family love, and so much more. And while I have never really experienced romantic love, I have been blessed with an abundance of family and friendship love.
Most of the time these relationships bring me immense joy but at the end of the day we are all human, so I have also been hurt. It is so painful when family or friends that you thought would be in your life forever start to fade from your life. I have had to experience the grief of losing a loved one but finding hope that I will see them again in heaven someday.
While the grief of losing a loved one to death is one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal with, I would say it is equally as hard to deal with the grief of losing a friendship just because life is messy, and you drift apart. It is like grieving someone who is still living. I've had this happen recently and I find myself going through so many different emotions. Anger, sadness, crying, resolve that I am over it, or determination that I can fix the relationship. I bounce through these emotions and eventually through prayer and reflection I know I will come to accept whatever the outcome may be. I've seen on social media about God removing people from your life for your own growth. I don't know if that is what is happening now, but if so, I must accept it as God's will. But even if it is God's will it still sucks and hurts in the meantime.
Love is so difficult to understand. God has allowed us to experience so many different forms of love as humans. I think the most amazing thing He lets us experience though is His love. He loves us so much He sent His son to die for our sins. God is love. Even when we are hurt by our earthly relationships God will be there for us.
GOD WILL NEVER STOP LOVING US!
God provides us with so many different types of love. Friendships, families, romantic, and so much more. Love can be difficult to navigate but God's love is unending and unconditional. And while our human relationships are messy and painful, God will always be there for us with his perfect love.
Much love,
Victoria
