Vacations

Hello all,

I hope you have all been having a good summer.

For me summer is a time for travel. I think it goes back to when I was a kid and we always did things on summer vacation. And now as an adult I keep the same mentality even though I could travel whenever I want.

I always try to take a big trip every summer but for several reasons I was unable to this year, so I decided to take some small trips.

In May I went to Los Angeles for a weekend. I went to see Taylor Acorn in concert with my sister. While we were there we also went to Downtown Disney. A couple weekends later my sister and I went to Santa Clara for the Luke Combs concert. While there we also went to San Jose to (finally) go to the Winchester Mystery House. (If you ever find yourself in San Jose and you like BBQ, go to Jackie's Place!)

In July I stayed in town but attended the Blink-182 concert. I didn't know a lot of the songs, but it was still a really fun concert. It was also the first time I had ever been to a concert with my dad, both my sisters, and my nephew. It was so fun to watch my nephew enjoy himself at the concert and sing along with all the songs.

Also, in July as a work trip my department all went up to the lake for the day. It was fun to get to hang out with everyone outside of the work environment. I also tried to paddleboard for the first time, but the board was not inflated enough to actually stand on.

Towards the end of July, my sister and I went to San Diego to visit our friend Joe and get away from the extreme heat for a few days. We just had fun hanging out, playing cards, going to the mall, and bowling. We also checked out the Hotel Coronado, which is expensive luxury hotel that is also supposedly haunted. We ate gelato and had fun looking at the grandeur of the hotel. While in San Diego my sister and I also visited our friends Johnny and Marimba (her real name is Chelsea). It was such a fun weekend.

Last weekend, my parents, sister, nephew and I all went to Monterey for the weekend. My nephew had never been, so it was fun to share the new experience with him. We stopped at a place called Casa De Fruta, which started as a fruit stand but grew to include many other businesses. We ate at the restaurant and explored some of the other shops. We made it to Monterey, and everyone napped for a bit before we went to the Fisherman's Wharf for dinner. While at the wharf there were so many sea lions. The next morning, we got up and went over to Santa Cruz to go to Mystery Spot, which was fun experience. Then we came back home.

These were all fun trips and I enjoyed each and every experience made.

What trips did y'all take this summer?

Much love,

Victoria
