New Opportunities
Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone is doing well! I am excited to announce that I have started a new job. I started this week and even though I am only two days into it, I think I am really going to like it. But let me tell you, the process of finding a new job wasn't easy.
I started applying for jobs several months ago. At first it was just one or two here and there. But then things at my job got worse and I had to up my search. Through my job search I applied for about 60 jobs. The search became discouraging, especially as things were rapidly changing at my current job.
I had several interviews and every time I asked God the same the same thing, "If this is the job for me, let it work out." I prayed for peace in the interviews and prayed for wisdom in making decisions regarding the interviews. Whether to accept or deny if a certain place offered me a job.
There was one company I interviewed multiple times for several different positions. The first one did not hire me. A couple weeks later I interviewed for a second position. They ended up not hiring me, but the Vice President of the organization was so impressed with me that he told me to apply for other positions within the university and to use him as a reference when I did,
I took his advice an applied to a couple more open positions at the university. Almost immediately I got a call back from one of the positions offering me an interview for the following Monday. The next day (Tuesday), the university called me for an interview in a different department. I accepted the interview. Wednesday came around and the first department called me to offer me the position. The pay was exactly what I was making currently, and I wanted to try my luck with the other department, which was scheduled for Friday. They were gracious enough to give me until the following Monday to decide.
Friday arrived and I had three interviews that day. The one at the university and two others. I completed the first interview, and I automatically knew I did not want that job. The second interview was with the university. The interview went well, and at the end I informed them that I was considering an offer with another department and had to give them an answer by Monday. They asked me to step out of the room and a few minutes later I came back in and they offered me the position.
Everything felt right to me and I accepted on the spot. I cancelled the third interview of the day, I walked away feeling at peace with my decision to accept the job offer. God knew the perfect opportunity was coming. He had it ordained perfectly and knew what the best fit for me would be. I trusted HIs plan and didn't take the first offer I received and I think it will work out better this way. I believe I am exactly where I should be. All it took was some patience and faith.
Now I know I am only two days into the role but I already feel at home. Thank God for new opportunities.
Much love,
Victoria
